The Brickfix Wall Crack Repair Kit provides a fast and cost-effective solution for repairing cracks in masonry walls. The kit includes 10 x 1m Brickfix helical bars (6mm diameter), a mixing paddle, a pointing trowel, and a pointing gun. This system stabilises cracks by bonding CE-marked helical crack stitching bars into slots cut into the mortar course using specially formulated Brickfix grout. To use, simply cut a horizontal slot to the required width in the mortar bed and remove all debris. Apply CE1 grout to the back of the slot, insert the Brickfix helical bar, then add another bead of CE1 grout and compress it to fill any small voids in the masonry. The high-performance grout firmly secures the bars, creating a strong, durable, and flexible repair. Finally, repoint the slot with matching mortar. The bars can also be bent to fix around corners. - To install the BrickFix Masonry Crack Stitching Kit you will need a suitable chasing tool, and the relevant PPE clothing/ protection. A mixing paddle, finger trowel, crack-stitching pointing gun and nozzle are included in the kit.1. Where cracks are within 500 mm of corners or reveals, the bar is to be bent and bonded around the corner to the recommended distance.When joining BrickFix Helical Bars, ensure that it is overlapped by at least 500 mm.2. Localised crack-stitching will not cure the cause of the crack. Crack-stitching can only be used to stabilise the symptoms of the cause.3. Always seek the advice of a structural engineer before undertaking any structural repair.Using suitable chasing equipment, cut horizontal slots into masonry to the required width, depth, and length. Slots should be cut 500 mm either side of any opening or crack. Clean out the slots thoroughly with clean water.Mix BrickFix CE1 Grout according to the instructions and attach the nozzle to the grout applicator gun. Fill the applicator gun and apply a continuous bead of BrickFix CE1 Grout to the back of the slot(s) using the applicator gun.Insert the desired length of BrickFix Helical Bar and push it into the grout. Apply a second bead of BrickFix CE1 Grout on top of the bar, then repoint using suitable mortar.
